Activities:

Strengthening Community Based Renewable Energy Systems (CBRES) in the Philippines through Gender Mainstreaming.

The Gender Action Plan is a deliverable of the project entitled Strengthening Community-based Renewable Energy Programs in the Philippines through Gender Mainstreaming, forged in partnership with ENERGIA. The plan was conceptualized in 2008 to address the need to integrate gender concerns and processes in SIBAT’s mission to serve CBRES for rural development.  The project was developed in partnership with ENERGIA, to implement activities covering a two-year period from 1st of February 2009 up to 31st of December 2010.

Gender, Renewable Energy, Environment and Water (GREW) Project. Philippines 2010

ENERGIA partnered with Approtech Asia in a project aimed at seeding the gender and energy network in the Philippines – the ENGENDER network. The project took place between April and October 2010. The main activities included a national network meeting; establishment of a production center for improved cook stoves; and the creation of training material.

National Training Course on Mainstreaming Gender Concerns in Energy Projects. Philippines 2009.

In 2009, Integral Development Services Philippines and ETC Foundation started a co-operation within the framework of the ENERGIA MFS Program. As part of the “Capacity Building” intervention strategy, the “National Training Program on Mainstreaming Gender Concerns in Energy Projects in the Philippines” was implemented. The program started in May 2009 and ended in November 2009. The program consisted of preparatory activities, training and follow-up activities.

Gender Power. Seed funding completion report Philippines 2008

The Philippine ENERGIA Seed Fund 2007 was a follow-up of the action plan prepared in the November 2006 meeting in New Delhi. The program was carried out between November 2007 and June 2008 and executed by APPROTECH Asia of the Philippines. The key activities performed as part of the see funding program were a workshop for increasing awareness to gender and energy issues, publication of 5 case studies, and the creation of a databank of partners.
