Who we are

ENERGIA-Asia is the regional chapter of ENERGIA in Asia. The ENERGIA-Asia Network was established through a regional consultative process in 2001. Its goal is to contribute to the empowerment of women -both rural and urban- through a specific focus on energy.

The network operates through renowned organisations working on energy and sustainable development issues, who all share agreed principles on gender, women's empowerment and sustainable development. These organisations work as National Focal Point (NFP) and host national level gender and energy networks. The Asia Region of ENERGIA includes nine countries, namely Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

ENERGIA-Asia is headed by a Regional Network Coordinator (RNC) who coordinates programme activities and engages with the NFPs and network members at regional level.
